So You’re addicted to Facebook , too?

We’re living in a world of face book obsessed people who log onto the site almost on an hourly basis to either check if their friends have commented on their latest status update or to see who’s liked their new profile picture. In order to keep a tab on this growing addiction, Norway researchers have developed a new instrument called the Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale (BFAS). “The use of Facebook has increased rapidly. We are dealing with a subdivision of internet addiction connected to social media,”
The BFAS is based on six basic criteria.
@ You spend a lot of time thinking about social networking.
@ You feel an urge to use social networking sites more and more.
@ You use such side in order to forget about personal problems.
@ You have tried to cut down on the use of social networking sites but have sadly been unsuccessful.
@ You become restless or troubled if you prohibited from using them.
@ you use social networking sites so much that it has had a negative impact on your job/ studies.
The study sho- wed that scoring “often” or “always” on at least four of the six items may suggest you are a Facebook addict.
